The purpose
of the ManExam™ Coalition for Testicular Cancer Awareness is to inform men between the ages of 15 and 50 that there is a
testicular cancer self-exam, or "man exam;" to educate them on the proper way to perform the man exam; and to encourage them to perform the man exam monthly.
This awareness and
instruction may be achieved through educational materials and programs,
advertising, event marketing and any other means deemed effective to reach the
target audience and their families.
ManExam™ was
founded in 2010 by David Coleman,
a testicular cancer survivor. "In my
profession, I am constantly surrounded by advertising and media. After I
was diagnosed, I realized that not only had I never seen an ad for
testicular cancer awareness, I had no idea there was a self-exam," said
Coleman. "I wanted it to be different for other men. And thus, ManExam™
was born."
